And spring is like a li’l girl
Whose beauty now unfurls
Emboldened by the new day
So bold with flowers play
Ah, the beauty of spring!
And spring is like a flower
Whose petals bloom with pow’r
Majestic in her fragrance
Bees cling and sing and dance
Hmm, the sweet scent of spring!
And spring is like a young boy
Who leaps and jumps with joy
Set free from winter’s cold
With joy and strength unfold
Oh, the pure joy of spring!
And spring is like an oak tree
Whose crown spreads wide and free
So strong and so enduring
So green where birds are dwelling
Oh, the great strength of spring!
And spring is like a new mom
Whose pains and groans she mums
The babe she now delivers
Brings hope and crown forever
Ah, the relieving hope of spring!
And spring is resurrection
When all’s His new creation
When death held Christ no more
The Lamb, the Lord, the Victor.
Ah, the Life and Giver of spring!
