Went out in me.
In my darkness,
I lost sight of Thee.
For there was no light,
To guide my way.
Darkness was upon me,
Both night and day.
Promises I made,
Were never kept.
Tears of darkness,
Are what I wept.
Forgotten faith,
Replaced with fear.
Lost in a darkness,
That didn’t disappear.
I turned my back,
On all that was right.
The darkness grew,
In the dark of night.
A wandering soul,
Lost and alone.
Even in the dark,
The darkness shone.
Leaving behind,
My peace of mind.
The darkness finally,
Made my spirit blind.
My eyes couldn't see,
What my heart knew.
The darkness upon me,
Wasn't something new.
For there comes a time,
In which we must choose.
The dark of darkness,
With everything to lose.
Or the light of salvation,
Shining down from above.
Radiating upon us all,
God's perfect love.
For it is in His light,
That our souls will grow.
And Satin's darkness,
We will no longer know!

I wonder if some of the stanzas were a bit redundant?
This has a marvelous message of redemption.
This was my favorite part:
"Or the light of salvation,
Shining down from above.
Radiating upon us all,
God's perfect love."
