before I reach that final border.
It has long been my desire,
to sing in that heavenly choir.
The day my passport picture was taken
Was the day I realized I was not forsaken.
And I accepted Christ's beautiful invitation
To come live with him in a new nation.
Looking at the stamps of past journeys,
Some I enjoyed, some not, but all were keys
That at times kept me on my knees,
Experiencing God's unchanging love for me.
Can't imagine I could be good enough,
Or ever possess the right stuff.
To enter into his Holy presence,
It's not based on my righteous sense.
By now I've learned to pack light,
My soul and spirit readies for this flight.
My carry on is "goodness and mercy"
Just to see Him, Oh! How happy I'll be.
This final trip was planned in advance,
Not leaving things to chance.
Upon my acceptance of his son
He stamped my passport "well done."

I liked that ending.
