Psalms 34: 18,19
It was the eve of December 31st 2006. I sat down at my desk preparing to write another story. But…before my fingers could even tap the letter keys, I began to reflect. I reflected on the past year. It was a difficult year, yet I had a lot to be grateful for. Last January my son and I fled to a shelter for abused women and children. We left our home and everything we knew for 7 weeks. Devastated and traumatized we returned home picking up the pieces of our lives. There were more trials and tribulations that lied ahead. Today…I thank the Lord for everything I faced and for the cross I bared in His name. Why?
Because….he heard me. He heard me in the Midnight Hour. Late at night after my little guy was tucked safely under his covers, He heard my cries. As the tears of my pain stung my very soul, He was cradling my heart. As I cried out for Him to ease the pain He had already picked up my cross to carry me the rest of the way. When I felt I could take no more, He whispered gently into my ear “you’re almost there, just one more step.” And…when I felt like I didn’t matter and I was all alone, He had His angels surrounding me with the light of love.
You see… I was never alone. Even in the midnight hour when all was quiet; except for the pounding of my heart, He never left my side. I now look back at those evenings. To me they were very special moments. Those were my tender moments with God. Those were the nights that the Lord courted me and wrapped His loving arms around me.
So tonight; even though I set out to write a different story, I chose to reflect on the power of God’s Love in the midnight hour! Do you feel abandoned? Are you feeling the loneliness of the midnight hour? Don’t ever think for one moment he doesn’t hear your tears or feel your pain. He is your father! A father never abandons his children. He will never abandon you! “I will not leave you as orphans, I will come to you”. John 14:18
As we reflect on this past year Lord, let us look to the times when you were there for us. Let us remember how your loving hands lifted us and carried us through our darkest days. And…Jesus, Happy New year!

Good writing, and I'm happy that I read this tonight.
