Pen to Paper

Pen to paper --
Black and white --
Words spread
Across the sheet --
Pen to paper --
Thoughts expressed
In flowered words
You meet --

Here you will view
The gift from God
Expressed by the soul --
Through the fingers
Of the writer
As if the ink were gold --

Losses and dreams --
Theories and plans --
Whispers and visions
As one reads
And from a soul's
Eye-view understands --

Pen to paper
Paint a view
Of what the heart
Contains --
Pen to paper
Here reveals
What the soul explains --

When you read
The words
Before your eyes
May you come
To know peace
And in that peace
May you realize --
May you realize
That words do share
And dreams do come true
As you come to understand
That the words
You have read
Connect me to you --

Pen to paper --
Black and white --
Here you see revealed
What the soul
Sometimes keeps
Out of sight --
Here you discover
Connection of us all
And in time to come
Pen and paper
Will be the means
Through which memories
You may recall…
