I found myself in this predicament recently, succumbing to the hectic pressures of life. Arranging everything but Him, at the top of my priority column, took a toll on our precious relationship. The more demands I gave into, the more my intimate relationship with Him found itself sliding down the scale of importance.
I couldn’t enter into His rest riding this roller coaster. Where did this leave me? I don’t have to tell you, but for clarity sake I will. May you find the answers I found, as I share the conversation between my Jesus and me?
“Jesus, aren’t you listening?”
“Can’t you see the mess I am in? I desperately need to hear Your voice.”
“Yes, I am here and listening, you aren’t.”
“What do you mean, I’m not? Of course I am!”
“Oh! God, is not the place of intimacy where you find out the answers you need child. You have sacrificed your time with Me for other things, which leave you lacking in wisdom and understanding. This leads to frustration, causing you to make bad choices, taking on things I never intended. Come! Be a Mary.”
“Sit with me awhile, worship, quiet your soul and listen.”
I dropped everything; I mean everything to enter in to the secret place I had abandoned. I positioned myself in a quiet place and began to worship. This alone lifted so much heaviness off my heart. It opened doors for the still, small voice of encouragement to speak to me.
I open my journal before you now, as it was opened before Him, to share these words He spoke to me, hoping you will put Him first and enter into the rest of His presence.
Precious One,
Troubles come; feelings of separation from My presence plague you at times, making you wonder as tears fall down your face, if I am really listening. My ears are never deaf to the cries of My children and they are not deaf to you. The whisper of My name penetrates all the noise and worship of heaven. Like an arrow with perfect aim, it burrows deep into My heart, compelling Me to arise and come to your side. I am there to collect each tear you cry in the cup of My hand, for they are precious treasures to Me. Your voice, your tears, each call to the love and responsibility I have for you. Remember, I chose you. I am drawn like a magnet to your side. Your tears are like a sweet perfume, when expressed in the midst of affliction, with a heart of praise and adoration. My faithfulness is without end, regardless of any sin, guilt or difficulty of circumstance. My love for you keeps My ears open to your voice. Your love for Me, never fails to bring Me to your side with an answer. The question is not, am I listening. The question is, are your listening? Every question or need you have has an answer. Remember, come and sit with Me first and the rest shall be added. Enter into the secret place, rest in My presence, allowing My voice to be loud and clear.
I love you,
Jesus
Feeling totally loved, I went back over the words written in the journal. Humbled by His grace and mercy I repented, rearranged my priorities, thereby entering into His rest. My hope is that you take time to rearrange your schedule and put Him first. It will open your ears and heart to His voice. May you walk in the fullness of His presence each and every day!
