In this year of 2041, it was against the law to speak the name of Jesus, but some people ignored those rules. One student, a dark-haired girl of 16, is one who enjoyed breaking this particular rule. Krista smiled and thought about starting something for Christ.
Krista almost laughed as she remembered the last time she spoke the name of Jesus Christ aloud in class. She was arrested and spent 30 days in jail. In that time, she was able to convert five people to the saving knowledge of Christ. Krista was ready to defend her faith and her Lord again.
The assignment this week was to write about a traumatic event in world history. Krista chose to write about one-world religion. The assignment was complete and Krista was idly thinking about her presentation.
Mrs. Noggins returned to the class and two of the students read their boring, mundane assignments. Finally, it was Krista’s turn.
“My assignment is titled “One World Religion.” As we all know, we are required to be the same religion and show no partiality to anyone. I completely agree that we should all be the exact same religion. In fact, this event in history has changed the world’s way of thinking about one’s faith and brought about traumatic changes – for the better.”
Mrs. Noggins breathed an audible sigh of relief as Krista read. Krista smiled to herself as she continued reading – the next several sentences would shock everyone, and this is just what she wanted.
“One religion is the only way to be, and I am proud to say that I am a member of the one religion we all must belong to – and that religion is the true and unwavering belief in Jesus Christ as God, Son, and Holy Spirit. We are all sinners bound for hell unless we repent of our sins and call on the name of Christ to save us, deliver us, and lead us through this life on earth. The knowledge of God’s saving grace is the only way by which we can lead a joyful, peace-filled life in the midst of the futility of a wrong one-world religion.”
Mrs. Noggins gasped as Krista continued.
“I say that the present one-world religion has brought about changes for the better, and it is because we Christians now have the perfect opportunity to witness about our faith in Christ as our Savior and Redeemer. In years past, people paid little attention to Christ – now, they are beginning to see Who He is, and what He has done for us. In fact, when He returns a second time, He will take His true believers with Him into Heaven. I pray that each one of you will go with me when Christ returns and not have to endure the living hell that will become earth. If you do not repent before His return, you will have seven years to learn and act upon that knowledge. If you do not, you will spend eternity in a lake of burning sulfur with your skin being perpetually burned off your body. Your suffering will be greatest because you will know that you have rejected eternal glory with Christ, not because of the constant pain you will be in.”
At this point, Mrs. Noggins ran from the room to contact the authorities. Krista continued talking, no longer reading, but preaching to the students in the class.
“I love each of you and want you to share in the peace and love that Christ has to offer. Don’t let this one-world religion fool you – it’s totally false and is led by the devil himself. Turn now from your sins, repent, and join me in eternity with Christ our Savior. Any minute now, the police will haul me off to jail again. But they won’t silence me – I will speak and declare the name of Jesus Christ boldly and proudly, until death, if necessary. He is my Lord.”
The police ran into the room and Krista put out her hands for the handcuffs. As she was led away, she smiled, thinking of the opportunity she would have to reach lost souls while in jail.
All in all, this was a great day to start something for Christ.
