The once full glass now extends its last drop;
The movie ends, the book is read, the lights go out-
Now there’s nothing left but emptiness and to begin something again.
There’s endless beginnings that lead to ends,
In this day and age nothing remains,
"To death do us part" is now a clique saying-
All things arrive at their intended destination.
Unless they get lost, and perhaps then an end is desired,
Or maybe there’s heartache, and thus the end is yearned for,
Or maybe there’s exhaustion, and we pray the clock ticks faster-
I guess there seems to be no end to trials, busyness, or obligations.
Either we run out of things to do or our schedule is full,
Either we’re starving for food or our stomachs say no,
Either we’re longing for love or run from its touch,
Either we wish the day would last forever or we are anxious for its end.
All things end in their time and place,
All things must end to begin again;
But you say, “The cancer is still here and the debt not erased,
My schedule is full and the workload won’t wait,
Our prayers are not answered, our suffering persists,
He treats me like garbage I can’t handle more years of this;
This season will not end, things just won’t change,
He tells me to persevere, when will He give me rest?
The money is not coming, I can’t find a job,
My appetite is ravenous I can’t overcome this addiction to drugs;
I’m needing help and His grace to save,
In my time of need has God abandoned me?”
We long for the end or hope it does not come,
We are complicated creatures we can’t decide what we want;
We want trials and hardships and struggles to cease,
Yet pleasures and blessings and desires to increase.
We don’t want to be busy but can’t stand being bored,
We don’t want to wake up yet fight the pillow at night,
We dive into relationships that we soon can’t wait to escape,
We refuse to extend forgiveness to others yet expect it from them.
Now, my rambling I’m sure is tilting your head,
Further sideways as you ponder what’s being said
And try to come up with a rational conclusion,
Of what I’m trying to say about this endless delusion.
For nothing ends, all things persist,
Yet all things come to an end, even moments like this,
This poem seems unending, but there’s really a final line;
The point I’m trying to make is that much of life is relative.
We live for the moment, caught up in the day,
Wanting this thing or that thing to continue or to fade,
But in reality this is foolish, our eyes are set on the temporal,
For an eternal day awaits us and that eternal day will remain.
Let’s make the most of the moment and press on in the trials,
For all things will come to an end in the twinkling of an eye,
The dawn will arise, He will flash across the sky,
We will awaken to the true day that will never diminish or pass away.
All things come to an end, there’s no escaping this truth,
But a life hidden in Christ will continue past this life
Into an eternity of pleasure, forever in union with the Son,
We will bask in His faithfulness and rest in His love.
When the struggles seem endless, let’s remember what’s truly endless,
When the pleasures of this age are alluring, let’s choose to ignore them
Remembering the longevity of our stay as but a moment in this world,
As pilgrims passing through, it is only our homeland that endures.

There are little rhymes here and there but not consistent. for this line: "To death do us part" I think you meant "Till."
However, I do love the argument that you presented and your take on the topic. Keep writing.
I think this is written more like prose than poetry, though I'm no expert.
Keep on writing and letting it flow. Catch ya next time—I gotta go. :)
This type of writing is not my forte, therefore, I don't feel I can offer any kind of constructive criticism.
Godd luck and God bless!
