Eyes don’t lie. One can’t veil the truth behind the disguise they falsify. Eyes don’t lie. Just look inside to determine one’s true nature. Eyes don’t lie. Either there’s light radiating from the Spirit within or there’s a dark void from lack of the Holy Ghost. Eyes don’t lie.
Hidden beneath the shadow of delusion’s ignorance wolves creep into the doors of the tabernacle unnoticed. The bride too busy looking at the outward appearance and gifts of man fails to notice the spirit of python taking root within her doors. Robed in the elegance of fine-tuned words, these workers of deceit allure men with the pleasantry of their speech. Their arms may be raised and their lips may sing to Jesus, but this does not mean their heart is lifted to Him in worship. Good actors know how to play their role.
Wolves sneak in to deceive, to lead astray the ignorant and weak in the faith, to delude the body and pervert the word, to defile the sanctuary built by God and not by man. If Jesus is sending His agents of truth to the darkness to invade them with His light, certainly the enemy in his advance is sending wolves to the light to dull and dim that light. How we need discernment.
Planted strategically throughout the body in a growing number are these workers of deception. They’re leading congregations, teaching Sunday school, employed as prayer ministers, and acclaimed prophets and apostles. Like mindless sheep (there’s a reason sheep are considered dumb) we follow these leaders, mesmerized by their charisma and fascinated by their stature. We dare not question whether these “mighty” men and women of God are truth; the crowds around us are affirming them to be and we are content to follow.
But have we looked into their eyes? Have we seen what’s inside? Is there darkness or light? What’s inside their eyes? Darkness can hide, but light can bear no disguise. Does the Spirit within us affirm them as truth or are we dull to His presence within us? Do we know Jesus Christ? If so we would recognize His servants. Perhaps we only know the presentation of Jesus that the religious institutions have presented to us, rather than the Jesus whom the Word and Spirit bear witness to-no wonder we’re deceived by counterfeits.
Abba Father is grieved. See the delusion the sheep have fallen sway to! See the atrocious plot of the wicked one! Beware of the bread given by man. Test it and try it to assure the leaven within it is gold. Who are we following? Man or Jesus? Abba grant us a spirit of discernment that we may test men by the only measuring line that cannot lie: love.
What’s inside your eyes? Eyes don’t lie.
2 Peter 2:1-3- “But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.” (ESV)
