Dear Lord, what do you see in me?
Is my goodness enough for me to be,
Deserving of all you have blessed me with,
Am I good enough after all of my sin?


Dear Lord, am I the child you fashioned me after?
After all of my tears and all of my laughter,
Do you see in me what you made me for?
Am I good enough at the inner core?


Dear Lord, I’m trying live a sinless life.
Amid the hustle and bustle and strife.
I stumble sometimes, sometimes I fall
Am I good enough for redemption at all?


Dear Lord, I always ask which path to take.
I listen intently so as not to mistake.
I guess I don’t hear every word you say,
Am I good enough for forgiveness today?


Dear Lord, am I caring enough of others?
My loved ones in Christ, my sisters and brothers?
Is my compassion enough when I give them a hand?
Am I good enough to my fellow men?


Dear Lord, what I’m asking is, do I please you?
That is my ambition, each day I seek truth.
Am I reaching my goal of progression each day?
Am I good enough for each day of grace?


Dear Lord, I’m grateful for each day of my life.
The life you saved when I almost died.
I still wonder at times at your great mercy,
Am I good enough, am I really so worthy?


Dear Lord, I hear you now, so loud and clear.
Your voice full of love, your presence so near.
“Dear Child of God, you are loved and forgiven,
You are good enough, I’ll see you in Heaven.”

I agree. You expressed beautifully and simply that spiritual question mark we all fall prey to in our christian walk. If we could be good enough, then Jesus didn't have to die for us.

Beautiful, questions we all ask at some time or another. Just wondering though, should the first sentence of the third paragrah have the word "to" in it?

I enjoyed this piece very much! I said many of the thing often on my heart. There is only one change I might make, in the 5th stanza, maybe men should have been man. Keep up the good work!

This is beautiful. Am I good enough is a question I ask myself all the time. I need to listen more closely to hear God's answer.

The only suggestion I might offer is you hsve a line that has 2 sometimes in it. You may want to change on of them so it's not repetitive.

I think it is spot on topic and a beautiful and inspirational thing.

Even today I've asked myself that question. The answer is always no... but then your answer at the end comes to me. In Christ, forgiven and "Good Enough." How wonderful, and you showed it very well! Good entry.
