Tantalizing and tasty are the morsels of gossip,
411 of other persons, acting as if they really care,
while the bearers of such gossip seem totally unaware
that when whispering the hushed and secretly known,
a faulty character, in themselves is being shown.
It is customary of the Christian Community to stand firm on judgment of sins which God has called sins. We major on some of the majors such as, adultery and stealing and killing, we are not wrong to do so, but we omit some weighty sins against which God speaks as clearly as He does the others. The truth is that there are no minor sins. The truth is that we are warned and instructed again and again in the Scriptures to not gossip. God takes seriously the words that we speak; our words are to bless others and not to curse.
To bless and not to curse; so how do we curse anyone when we tell a thing we think we know, or do know about them, after all, it is the truth isn’t it? All truth is not beautiful and all truth is not to be repeated. Truth that blesses, although it may be confronting, such as God’s Word, is truth to tell. Truth that is no ones else’s business is not truth to tell. If we sow gossip, we will reap a crop of trouble.
Often times I have read the text in which King David is telling God, regarding the death of Uriah, that “Against You and You only have I sinned and done this evil in Your sight.”*1 Every time I read it, I felt incensed. To me it smacked of superiority of attitude. How could David say that He had sinned only against God? There was Uriah and Bathsheba, and her parents, and Uriah’s parents and family; the death of a family member is so tragic and far reaching, and David talks like it is a matter between only himself and God! I asked God about that for several years. I heard nothing; then one morning as I was awaking the text in which Jesus says, “Whatever, you have done to the least of these my brothers; you have done it unto Me.”*2 Immediately the two things connected and I had an AHA! moment. I could clearly see that the Lord was saying to me, that David had done God wrong because he had Uriah killed. God took that personal. I am reminded also that it was personal to God regarding the grief that was imposed upon the families for the loss of Uriah. Anything that we do that brings damages upon another human being is a personal affront to God. The same thing applies to our words, whether they are blessings or curses. Bitter and sweet water does not come from the same cistern.* 3 Gossip is comprised of bitter words, malice, and ill will. How can we bless God with the same tongue that spreads gossip about those whom God loves?
Gossipers divide, discourage, degrade, and destroy; there by, they practice the devil’s work, for those are the devil’s characteristics.
May God bless my tongue and yours as well so that with our words we are encouragers
and not, the unwitting agents of hell.

You had some words left over; I'd love to see you use them all, perhaps to clarify your point. I wasn't sure that I entirely saw the connection between the two passages.
