When I heard a trumpet shout.
The sky was black as tar;
No shining moon or twinkling star.
Suddenly a brilliant light;
Where angels lit up the night,
Then I saw The Son of God;
In his hands a shepherd’s s rod.
His garment was white as snow;
Arms opened to those below.
His hair was a milky white;
And copper eyes glowed with might.
Then He spoke “It is now time.”
I saw people begin the climb.
Up went many friends so dear;
I remained; it was now so clear.
They tried to tell me this before;
Hmph I said and always grew sore.
“I don’t need to meet in the air;
Leave me alone; I do not care!”
Oh why didn’t I listen?
Now I won’t be with them.
I heard but did not care;
The good news they tried to share.
The Son of God I did deny;
Alone, I peer into the sky
Oh why did I not listen?
I am lost without Him.
