When I think of a beach I remember my first time in Florida. What a powerful sight it was for me to see an endless body of water; and to feel as though I were standing on the edge of the world. The roar of the water was so forceful that as I stood on the beach I could feel both internally and externally the water roll in and back out again. With each return it would bring up little bits of the ocean, like seashells, baby squid, and bits and pieces of seaweed. The wet sand worked its way between my toes and stuck to my skin like glue as I walked along the beach. The air was heavy with moisture; not enough to make me uncomfortable, just enough to be enjoyable. I could smell, taste and almost touch the wetness in the air.

As I walked along the beach I collected the spoils from the ocean. Most of the shells I found were imperfect, but all were unique. Some were cracked or broken, they were colored as only a master painter could paint them and none were the same. I found one that had a hole just big enough to put on a chain and wear as a necklace. It was perfect as though I had gone to the store and purchased a necklace made especially for me.

As the day and the sun passed over the wet sand became dry, and the
night ocean rolled upon the beach and drove new seaweed and driftwood up the shore and there were new treasures on the beach the next morning.

This reminds me of Gods love. A love that is so vast and so deep that it is truly endless. The tide of his love washes over me at regular intervals bringing up treasures, all laid out in the SON light for me to pick up. Treasures of peace, joy, and happiness; sometimes these treasures come in the form of brokenness, or require a breaking in my spirit. Breaking that places the next color on the canvas of my life by the hand of The Master Painter. And when the sun dances across the sky and causes dryness in the very depth of my being; the night comes, and the tide of Gods love rolls in, and the next morning peace, joy, and happiness are abundant once again.
