Topic: The Church (12/06/07)
I close my eyes and within the realm beyond my physical being I can see a church. It consists of an army of angels, a collection of Christians and Jesus leading the way. The church I envision is in complete unison. All of the body moves together accomplishing many good works amongst the unsaved. I see the church moving down the streets of loneliness and despair removing all it’s ugliness and restoring the people. I look at the church as it moves mountains and creates safe havens for the children of this world. Oh what a world this would be if only we could get all the bodies of the church on one page with one goal: saving the unsaved.


Church is not just a building. It is not just a group of people. Church is the body of Christ. It is the believers of Christ walking in the same direction for God’s purposes. The mission of the church is to bring the unsaved to Christ so they may find their way to heaven. After bringing persons to Christ it is the responsibility of the church to nurture the baby Christians so that one day they too can become leaders of the church and help it grow.


When two or more are gathered in His name God is present. If we are gathered in His name we can accomplish anything for God is our strength. The church body as a whole with God on it’s side can do many acts of kindness and bring us closer to world peace. It can heal the sick, restore the broken hearted, turn the hearts of the bitter and cleanse all of the sins committed in the past. When the church stands together no matter what denomination of Christianity, great miracles can happen. Others will be in awe at the power within the church and feel compelled to become a part of such a wonder.


I close my eyes again and I see before me a million angels just waiting for us all to become a part of the body of Christ. They await with open arms, welcoming all the new members of the body. They stand in perfect silence waiting for all to join the mission and then as one we can move about this earth taking a stand for God against the evils of this realm. Come, join the church. Together we can conquer the world for God. The angels are waiting.

This is an interesting devotional. Watch for the difference between "it's" (it is) and "its".

What an inspiring vision! I like the framework of the angels waiting.

Several times in the body of this devotional you use phrases that are very familiar to most Christians. As some readers will have a tendency to gloss over the familiar stuff, try for fresh and new ways of expressing those ideas.

A well-organized and laid-out piece.
