As a English teacher, I have to comment on your excellent use of perfect iambic pentameter and the correct sonnet form! And as a reader, I have to tell you that you've captured the emotions very well, and painted a lovely picture of your mother. Thanks!

Linda, Jan is right. You did a very good job. Unfortunately (and Jan herself fell victim to this last week with her sonnet)the nature of a sonnet tends to put it out of the running for the Challenge. The minimum word count is 150 words, and from what I can gather, most sonnets fall under that limit. To cover yourself in future, you may like to include an introductory or closing paragraph just to help bring it up to the 150 word count minimum. With love, Deb (Challenge Coordinator)

It's good that you have a legacy of faith. It is really a treasure to have that, much more than any material inheritance!
