Through years of wondering through this earth trying to learn all we can we begin to gather the different materials we need to sew our Christian Blanket. We go down different roads in our short lifetime here, stopping at many destinations looking for just the right fabric, the most magnificent thread and learning necessary skills to perform the task at hand. Our journeys lead us in many directions in life, however we all need a blanket for protection against the pitfalls of this world. We need a security blanket to keep us safe when we think the whole world is against us, a place where we can be fulfilled.
How do we begin our blanket? By reading the Pattern of course, the Pattern that has been handed down through generations of persons seeking the same fulfillment. In order for the Pattern to turn out properly we need to follow some guidelines. We need to read through the Pattern first before we begin the project, collecting necessary knowledge in order to complete our blanket.
Some of us we just skim read the Pattern in hopes of gathering enough information to complete the project. Those of us using this method end up with blankets with holes in them. When we need the blanket for protection we find there is not enough to cover our needs. With these holes we are unable to tell others truthfully about the usefulness of having a Christian Blanket. We leave out most of the important parts in the Pattern which only leads to despair.
Others think that they can take the Pattern and make their own adjustments leaving out what they believe is not needed, adding their own ideas. These sewers find that when they try to make it on their own they fail. They have faith they can complete the project, however, their faith is in themselves-- not the creator who wrote the Pattern. In then end those who choose to make their own rules end up alone and wanting more, giving up on a project that could become their greatest reward.
Those of us who choose to follow the Pattern to it’s fullest extent are the ones who create the most useful blankets. Not only do we put our faith in the creator, we spread our precious blanket out to others in need. Even though life creates holes in our blanket, we know through faith we can fix these gaps. By relying on the source who created the pattern we are able to share our understanding of faith, making a safe haven for others to abide in.
Sewing together the materials we find along the way is not an easy task. Often we find ourselves in paths of destruction. Our actions go against what we believe and rip out the stitches that we have sewn. We lose faith in the Pattern, beginning to question every aspect of our existence. We abandon our project leaving it to collect dust, making it unuseable. Sometimes we complete the project but we fold it up, placing it on a shelf for later use. Through these actions we fail to understand we need our blanket every day. Without it we are left in the world without protection. Evilness searches for those who are blanketless, it seeks to destroy those who are unprotected by the Pattern.
Sewing our Christian Blanket is a never ending but joyous task. By working on it every day and reading the Pattern we increase our knowledge and ability to sew a good blanket. Sometimes we need to be teachers, showing others how to sew their own blanket when they cannot comprehend the Pattern . By sharing our knowledge of the Pattern we are able to cover more people in the spirit of our Christian Blanket. Through sharing our blanket making abilities with others we often add thickness to our own Christian Blanket, making it easier to share the warmth with others.
Begin today sewing your Christian Blanket. Start reading the pattern Gather your materials, choose the right thread and begin stitching together the precious blanket you need to cover yourself in the warmth of Christianity. When you stumble along the way don’t give up keep sewing until the project is completed. When you are done with your Christian Blanket share it with others around you, be a shelter for those in need. You will be surprised how far your blanket will spread when you rely with complete faith in the Pattern.
