Dictionary.com's definition for shrewd was .....having or showing keen awareness, sound judgment, and often resourcefulness, especially in practical matters. It also stated that sagacious, astute, perspicacious were its synonyms, meaning the word has the same or nearly the same meaning as the original word or other words in the same language.

So here I am, off on a very real adventure trekking through the English language determined to come up with the meaning of the word "shrewdness, “in my life,so I can enter once again the writing challenge at Faithwritters.com

Nothing...... nothing ...... & still nothing! Why is this so hard?!

I have stared at these words forever. It seems the words " keen awareness " only spark in me,some not so fond memories. Memories of having a keen awareness of everything, every noise, every movement, every shadow as I slithered out my bedroom window for yet another exhausting night out to try to fit in, or as I tip toed through the back exit of the auditorium to skip school,I was very aware!

No! Keen awareness didn't do it! Nothing!

"Sound judgement "well there is another dozy, when have I ever shown or even thought those words. They may have been a distant muffle deep down in my brain while my mother gave yet another 26 1/2 minute lecture about the reality of sexually transmitted disease but, it was her I thought might be posses that quality, not me!

Well. This journey looks like it is heading for the falls, would you like to watch "shrewdness" go over with me ? Nothing !

Now we have finally come to a word familiar to me "resourcefulness " now we are getting somewhere ! I can be resourceful ,I have always been able to find a pillow to lay my head and food for my stomach, even when I woke up in the middle of the night with a roach crawling across my chest I have to conclude it was sleep ! I also was really good at getting what I wanted without having to say anything, just taking it that was resourceful ....

WAIT, wait a minute I missed the part where it said "especially in practical matters" ,because there is nothing practical about being scared and alone in the dark with no one to help you .

Well I give up faithwritters I tried my best Shrewdness just doesn't fall on me I have failed miserably at coming up with a story about a word I know nothing about .

I do know someone you could talk to though ....Someone who has keen awareness of everything going on and through sound judgement and resourcefulness in practical matters is successful every time !

Well He can take water turn it into wine, (resourceful ) change a prostitute so much she gives a gift of tears(keen awareness) and oh the wee little man Zacheaus gave back more than he ever had taken because of Him !(sound judgement )

I don’t know about shrewd, but Jesus He is the real story here!
