It's much easier for me to explain things by hearing than by sight. I'm really good at listening. If I am asked to describe what I saw on my field trip to Washington D.C., it seems like a punishment. But if I can just talk about what I’ve heard or felt then, I can tell everyone about the Declaration of Independence in the National Archives. And the feeling of true patriotism that rushed through me, when I stood in the room where our founding fathers debated their issues of freedom.
When I grow older I want to be a famous artist, one like Michelangelo in fact. The only problem is when I get graded on art; the highest I receive is a C. I have difficulty sketching with a pencil or even coloring in the lines. Every time I try, my vision blurs and the letters come out sloppy, the lines too dark, and the marker smudges on my fingers.
There are so many things I can visualize in my mind, but have a problem drawing the scene on paper.
It's okay. I'm not complaining. I'm truly thankful. You see, you gave me a wonderful mind. I'm great at singing hymns and praises in the Children’s choir, and I love memorizing your Holy Word. We have some great Bible discussions in Sunday school class, and that's where I really shine.
You have told me that you made me special when you said that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. You have assured me that you will see me through all trials, and that you have plans to give me a future hope.
Lord, this is a thank-you letter, just to let you know I'm doing fine. Life's hard sometimes, but you know what? I accept the challenge. I have the faith to see myself through anything. I may have lost my physical vision but my spiritual vision is still in tact. Thanks for making me. Thanks for loving me unconditionally. Thanks for everything.
