Beautiful in every way.

This is a perfect, glorious piece of poetry.
Great poem, Melanie. I can't imagine the feelings Mary must have felt that day. I like the imagery and the "firsts" you used to counter against the "end"--nice. Congrats on your win, too. Great job!

Worthy of every award!
I agree with other comments. This poem should be on Easter Sunday bulletins and on Mother's days brochures as well!

Excellent work Melanie. Congratulations.
The first two stanzas I read, I thought this was just going to be a sappy love story type poem. Then I read the third stanza and realized what a love poem it is! You did a great job at capturing the feelings Mary must have felt. Being a mother of three sons, I've often wondered how she managed losing Jesus in such a terrible, yet beautiful, sacrifice. Congratulations!
