Selena Evans was home alone while her parents went to a dinner. She

was 15yrs old and this wasn’t the first time she has been by herself. This time felt more special in a sense that her parents had left before dinner so in order to feed herself, she was in charge of the kitchen. Mom had left simple ingredients like cold cuts, cheese and bread if she wanted a sandwich to something more complex like boiling water on the stove for green beans to go along with her steak & mushroom meal from last night. Steak and mushrooms were a favorite that mom made every once in a while, and Selena would it eat it all the time just with different sides; to add more variety. Also, this time the green beans weren’t ones she could just heat up in the microwave; they had to be steamed. She felt like such a grown-up! She became hungry around 6p, two hours before her parents were due to come home. She knew the steak and mushrooms would only take about three minutes in the microwave so that was going to be last. She got out the steamer pan for the green beans and filled the bottom with water. She knew she only had to bring the water to a boil before setting the top part with the beans in. Five minutes later the water had big bubbles so she knew that was a boil. She reduced the water to a simmer, set the beans in and covered the pans. Since she had four minutes to do this, she set the steak and mushrooms on a microwave plate and heated them up for the last three minutes. At the ding of the timer signaling the steak was completed, she pulled it out and added the green beans. She had successfully made her own hot meal. She felt proud of herself and knew mom and dad would be as well.

This would be an excellent piece to practice time sequence words like first, next, then, and finally. Each of these would be their own paragraph in your piece.

This in a nice "growing up" story.

You may want to put spaces between paragraphs. You cab review story by selecting the preview button.

I believe you meant to say would't ear it instead of would it eat it.
