The first paragraph was a bit confusing, but the following story is very good! I enjoyed this read!

There are a few mechanical problems (punctuation, paragraphing), but this is a charming, tender story.
What a wonderful tale you have woven of marriage and community and reclaiming the past. I really enjoyed this and marvelled at how you fitted so much wisdom into 750 words. I especially love Jack. I also sense that someone with a keen sense of gardening wrote this.
I liked the link between the first paragraph and the last few lines, and with imagination can picture the two sisters. The first paragraph was slightly ambiguous but I picked up the relationship to the story as I read on. I suspect this was a casualty of the word count. If so,perhaps you could submit the whole piece to the regular section.
Beautifully written, and in my books, a winner! Well done!

Your descriptions are just beautiful! And I love your phrase about the newlyweds being covered with an 'idyllic haze'! Lovely.
