When we need a professional service, a plumber, someone to do a house remodel, or prepare our taxes, we want the best in the profession. We want an expert in the field.
A few years ago recording artist Nicole C. Mullins recorded a song entitled "Redeemer". Part of the lyrics say, “Who taught the sun where to stand in the morning?
Who told the ocean you can only come this far?
And who showed the moon where to hide till evening?
Whose words alone can catch a falling star?”
The chorus goes on to say that all of creation testifies to the power of the redeemer.
In Job 38:4 God said to Job “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth?”
According to Psalm 104:5 “You laid the foundations of the earth ,so that it should not be moved forever. And continuing on in verse 9 said “you have set a boundary that they may not pass over..”
This same God also knows the number of the stars and their names “He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name.” (Psalm 147:4)
Oh yes and our God also said in the book of Genesis in the first chapter, “Let there be light; and there was light.:” He spoke and there was the sun, the moon and the stars. Then came the water, fish and fowl, beast and cattle. He topped off His creation with mankind. Genesis 2:7 says “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.'
Of course the one who created us knows us best. He knew us before we were born. “Your eyes saw my substance being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written. The days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them” (Psalm 139:16)
He also knows the words we are going to speak when they are still in our tongues. “ For there is not a word on my tongue, But behold, O Lord, you know it altogether.” (Psalm 139:4)
Why God even knows the number of hairs on our head! “But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.” (Matthew 10:30)
But God did not stop there. God loves us beyond any human comprehension. (Jeremiah 31:3 B) “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love. Therefore with loving kindness I have drawn you.”
As a matter of fact He loved us so much that sent the only perfect, acceptable sacrifice for our sin. (John 3:16) “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
As if that were not enough, He also died; but three days later He arose from the grave victorious over death! (Mark 16:6) “But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here...”
Could it be that this God who conquered death, spoke the earth, sun, moon and stars into existence and created mankind out of dust, is the ultimate “expert”? I can think of no one else that even compares!
