When we go to the grocery store, we see an expiration date on most products. As humans we must expire as well, but are we prepared to do so? There are three main ways to leave this life prepared. They are as follows:
1. Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior.
2. Get Life Insurance.
3. Prepare a Last Will and Testament.
Spiritually speaking, John 3:16 gives us hope to live on after we expire. It is clearly stated ”For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (K J V) We are also told in the Bible that Jesus is the only way, by which we come to his Father. (See John 14:6)
As stated in the step #2, In preparation for this final journey we should get Life Insurance, if we haven’t already. We must think of the heavy burden that we may place on our loved ones after we are gone. The absence of this important document could cause chaos in the family as well.
We can avoid much confusion that may occur after our death. A good way to do this is to prepare a Last Will and Testament, with the help of a lawyer . We can also learn how to prepare one through guidance given on the internet. This will avoid unclear answers as to how our possessions should be distributed. We may also avoid the possibility of the state distributing our assets as they saw fit.
These are just some of the ways we can prepare for our final journey. We should educate ourselves, on what needs to be done, in the case of our death. In closing, remember the famous quote by Benjamin Franklin “by failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.”
