Topic: Park (10/25/12)
Exhausted from an overwhelming day at work, I decided to crawl into bed early and snuggle up with a good book. Unable to get through the first couple of pages, before I knew it I was fast asleep.

Suddenly, I was in a dream and Jesus was talking to me. "Daughter, are you ready and willing to turn your life over to me and trade in your old habits, for a life filled with peace, joy and happiness?"

Lost for words, I was amazed that I was in the presence of my heavenly father. As he gazed into my eyes I felt this warm sensation flow though my entire body. It was as if my soul were being cleansed, what seemed to look like magical shimmering pixie dust fell to the ground from my body. He spoke words of "Be still, and know that I am GOD; (PSALM 46:10 NIV).

"My daughter, I have beautiful plans for you, I want to see you prosper with hope in the future and live an abundant life." (JEREMIAH 29:11 NIV)

Gracefully, he stretched out his hand and said, "Come my child, let us take this journey together. As we walk to the park, I will open your eyes and show you things you have never seen before."

Almost immediantely, my eyes were opened, drawn to all the beauty that
surrounded me. My eyes feasted on the beautiful flowers, trees and the birds in the air. It was as if Jesus and I were the only creatures in all of the world.

After a long journey, I finally managed to get a clear view of the park.
It was breath-taking, I couldn't believe my eyes. We entered through these huge gates of this amazing park, together we began our journey.

He lead me to a bridge, the only thing in the park that was old and brittle. I didn't understand why Jesus had brought me here. I was terrified, confused that the bridge would break if I tried to cross over it.

Again, Jesus stretched out his arm and said, "Take my hand. Trust In the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your path straight. (PROV 3:5-6 NIV)

"Call on me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know. (JEREMIAH 33:3 NIV)

"First we must cross over the bridge. "The park dazzled in all of Its brilliance. Beautiful, radiant colors, bright, shimmering sparkles were everywhere; suddenly, an overwhelming love gripped my heart. I paused, following a swallow of pure ecstasy. "Soon you will be with me in paradise but You must first rid yourself of the fear that the bridge will collapse.

"My beautiful daughter, whom I love and adore, you may not need to be concerned about the bridge. For it is the fear in your heart that will keep you from all of your hopes and dreams."
As I began to take my first step of faith onto the bridge JESUS said, "But seek first his kingdom and his righteous, and all these things will be given to you as well". (MATTHEW6:33 NIV)

As I crossed over the pitter-patter of my heart changed to a heart of fear overflowing with joy and relief.

"My daughter, I came because you called me. The truth is this is a divine appointment that I planed long ago. I waited patiently for this day to come. I have many children, such as yourself, that are also very precious to me. They, too, have an appointed time. All will one day have the privilege to walk with me In this beautiful park and will cross the very same bridge you have been afraid to cross over.

If you would have not called out to me, you would have not crossed the bridge of fear.

My beautiful princess, the walk in the park is the beauty that lies within; the trial was putting you're life in my hands trusting you'll get to the promise land."

Suddenly there was a silence. with all the beautiful, shimmering sparkles, and rays of colorful lights shinning, In a gentle voice Jesus announced, "You have arrived, this is your destiny.

In all of its majesty, my daughter, do you wish to go back home?"
With a deep sigh, I paused and said, "I am home."

This is a lovely dream. I have no doubt that God uses our dreams to speak to us. I think it is because it's one of the few times we let down our guard enough to hear his words. The part about the brittle bridge made me pause as I have had a reoccurring dream of being trapped on a bridge since I was little. Maybe God was trying to get through to me too. I remember the first time I ever saw a picture of the George Washington Bridge. I wasn't very old, maybe fourth grade but it was the exact bridge that has been in my dreams. Still to this day, I have a fear of bridges. Maybe I need to grasp God's hand and conquer my fears. :)

I LOVED this story. You made everything come to life where I could see your MC walking in the park with Jesus and then I also experienced her fear and the hard time she had letting go of it. The ending was perfect. Great work.
