"This woman was caught in the very act...We saw her, she must die."
He followed from a safe distance, observing her being pushed and smacked.
"Don't let her get away." A woman in the crowd yelled.
"She is to die for her sin, hold on to her for she may break free." A tall man shouted.
"She is a sinner. She must die according to the law!" The merchant screamed.
He watched and felt sick to his stomach. What could he do?
"Please have mercy..." A woman nearby reached out and smacked her in the face.
"You are a sinner, and you will die a sinners death...It is the law." A pious man said.
She was on the ground, and crying...They pulled her by the hair to her feet again.
"You are going to die." One of the Teachers of the law said.
She was being pushed and smacked and thrown to the ground continuously.
He wanted to run and hide, he couldn't stand watching...What could he do?
The woman broke free and ran, they ran after her...He did too.
She ran and fell to the ground not too far from Jesus.
"Kill her!" The blood thirsty crowd chanted with huge stones in their hands.
The man stopped and looked from the distance, he saw Jesus staring at him.
The Pharisee stopped in front of the temple steps where Jesus was teaching.
"This woman was caught in the very act, and under Moses law we are commanded to stone such women...Now, what do you say to that teacher?
The woman was on the steps crying unabashedly.
Jesus was looking at the man in the distance...He placed his thoughts into his head.
"I know you are the one who was with her."
The man couldn't believe it, but somehow this Rabbi Jesus, knew what happened!
Jesus began to write in the ground.
The group was waiting, demanding her blood for her sin.
Jesus began to write in the ground again, very calmly.
They kept questioning Jesus… and Jesus stood up.
"Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her."
Again, Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground.
Each one saw their own sin on the ground!
Each individual after hearing what Jesus said saw their own sins written on the ground.
One by one, they threw down the stones and walked away, some fleeing in fear.
The man in the distance was with this woman in the act of adultery; he got on his knees, and cried openly begging for forgiveness. And, felt the love of Jesus from where he kneeled and knew he was forgiven.
Then Jesus helped the accused up..."Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?"
"No one sir,” she said through her tears as she looked into the face of love and warmth.
"Then neither do I condemn you. Go now and sin no more."
She kissed his hands and then said, "Thank you Lord, my master."
The man, who was the other part of this act, became a dedicated man of honor; and held a strong belief in Jesus Christ, as did the woman. They realized His love, compassion, and mercy that miraculous day...They were devastated when he hung on the cross, seeing the depth of his love even further, and even deeper than the day He forgave them their transgression.

They were overjoyed when word came that he rose on the third day, victorious, and the author of salvation as he ascended into His Father’s house. They will never forget the face of love, or His heart of mercy and compassion. They look forward to seeing Him again in Paradise, where they shall live forever in His glory amongst the saints and angels.

I would have liked more detail about any further interaction between your MC and Jesus, or possibly with the forgiven woman - and how their attitudes to each other would change, instead of a sweep ahead to the cross. However, this is credible biblical fiction, a genre that I thoroughly enjoy.
