Why are you putting me through these things?
My soul longs to know.
What good can come from this?
If You are real, then... why?
Why. It's the eternal, unending question.
I ask in the night,
When my thoughts seem to overwhelm me.
I ask in the day,
When the sun fails to warm my heart.
They say I am a man after Your own heart.
Me? How could that be?
I question You.
Sometimes You answer me;
Sometimes You don't.
Or at least I don't feel Your answer.
But then...
Then You show me You care.
You lift me up.
Your remind me;
You are the one who made me.
If You are the one who created me,
Then I can't be useless.
My soul yearns to know what You know.
I long to see what is in store;
To see where all this is going.
And yet...
No matter what, I will trust in You.
You are with me.
When my outlook is desolate,
And I can't see You
You wait.
You turn my outlook back to You.
Once again I feel...
Safe.
