Ahh, what a gorgeous day! I’m so thankful for the warm sun! I’m going to lift my
branches high to get all those healthy rays. Well, as high as I can now that I am laden
down with my beautiful apples. I’ve worked hard. I’ve soaked in the sunshine, fed on
the nutrients in the soil, drank the sweet rain. And my fruit, matured to perfection, is
nearly ready to be picked. I’m so proud!

“Look at me! Hey, everyone, look at me! See how grand I am?” Gee, I sure hope
someone notices......

Huh! What’s that? I hear something... It sounds like... it sounds like... gnawing?
Munching? Oh, no! I’ve got worms! Agh! They’re eating my beautiful fruit! How did
this happen? My sweet juicy apples, they’re getting eaten full of holes!

“Scat, worms! Get out of here! Let go of my apples! Stop that munching!”

I’m supposed to bear good fruit, not apples with worm-eaten holes. What will others
think? What will they say? This is bad, so bad. Whatever will I do? There’s nothing I
can do. “Help! Somebody, help me!”

Oh, no, I’m in trouble. Here comes Farmer Smith walking across the yard. What will he
think of me? I’ve got wormy apples! What can I do? I know, I’ll hide. No, that won’t
work, I’m too big. Maybe I can just pretend everything is okay and he won’t notice.
Hummm, hummm. Yeah, I’ll make him think everything is just fine, hummm, shake my
leaves a little bit. He’ll see I’m alive and well. “See my shiny red apples?” Hummm,
hummm...

What’s that he’s carrying? Not an axe is it? No, its, its... Oh! What is he doing? He’s
spraying me with something! I... I wonder what it is? Will it hurt? No... no, it doesn’t
hurt. But is sure does stink! Mmm, it feels kind of good though. Here, let me raise my
branches a bit. Heh, heh, heh, that tickles! Ahh, how cooling. Wow, I feel so
refreshed!

Well, would you look at that. The worms are dropping off my apples! Look at them go!
Aha! Good ol’ Farmer Smith, he knew just what I needed. Washed and cleansed me,
he did. Zapped those apple-sucking parasites! Yeah! I’ve been set free of those nasty
worms. “I’m free, Whoopee!”

Yeah! Watch me go now. I’ll produce a bumper crop this year. I’ll do what I was
planted to do; bear good fruit. Lots of fruit. Many will be blessed by my bountiful crop.

Yes, I lift my branches high in thanksgiving. What a beautiful day! Yep! A glorious
day!

Excellent and very, very, funny and clever idea!! This is a very good challenge article which deserves to be one of the prize winners in the beginners category. Well done and thanks for sharing; I hope there's more of this to come in the future. God bless, love from JOHN3-34 Evangelist.
