Beautiful work on this poem. I had to look up "petroglyphed". For others who wonder, it is a picture carved in rock. Great descriptions in this lovely poem.
Impressive imagery...I like the cactus theme carried through to the end, via the shallow roots and tapping into the deep water of Christ...lots to meditate on here.

Soothing and refreshing ... loved your metaphor of the cactus. To soak up Christ's truth in a dry world is truly wonderful.
You painted a pretty and vivid picture in my mind

Congratulations on your brevity and your breadth - and on your first placing.
Excellent work.
[I mention brevity, because writing about a cactus could have trapped you with too many 'points' to cover. :-)]
Absolutely beautiful! Congraulations on your well-deserved EC.
