That crowd my mind at times.
Early in the morning
Before the rising tide.
Seems like each new day is hindered
By passion, self and pride -
Until my eyes are open
And I sometimes realize.
You are there Lord
Always there -
Drawing me and wooing me
Showing me you care.
In the little things of life
So short, so few in years.
In my heart
I’m on my knees
As you drive away all fears.
It seems like each new day you give
Is a blessing in disguise.
Opening your Word to me,
Is Your love letter for all eyes.
It is then in that stillness
I happily realize
You are on the subways, in the office -
In the skies.
And on those busy city streets
Where I sometimes see
A tiny little sparrow
Pecking for his meats.
So, my soul be quiet.
Listen and you will hear
From the Book of your Heavenly Father
Words so kind and dear.
“Be still and know.”
Psalm 46:10 - “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”
