Kay met Daryl in the Dining Room as he continued his trek through the house.
Daryl kissed her. “Hi honey. What have you been doing today?”
“Ohh, this and that,” she responded. She’s long since grown weary of explaining to him the daily tasks that she attempts to do. As she gave him a welcoming hug, she thought to herself, “cleaned the windows, vacuumed, went to the bank and grocery store, paid the bills, …what’s he think I’ve been doing all day?”
“Sooo, baby, what do you want for supper?” Daryl inquired, thinking how there probably wouldn’t be anything to even put food on.
“Well sweeeetie,” Kay started with a little bit of a tone, “why don’t we go out to eat since we don’t seem to have any clean dishes available anyway.” In her mind, Kay grumbled, “since your lazy butt thinks that you are too good to pick up a dish.”
“Sounds like a good idea, darlin’. I guess you were too busy to get to them today. No problem.” Daryl replied, but then complained to himself. “maaan, if she would just sacrifice one of her soap operas for a day, maybe she could have done these by now.”
Kay groaned but held her tongue and prayed to herself, “God, help him to see how important it is that he help me a little around the house, Amen”.
“Okay, where do you want to eat, honey,” Kay asked, trying to keep her cool.
“How about Burger King?” Daryl responded, “…since I work two jobs and I still can’t afford to go somewhere nice.” Then Daryl prayed to himself. “God, can you pleeeeease get Kay to do the dishes while I’m at work. Thanks. Amen.”
