Down they come so silently
The snowflakes from the sky
To spread a blanket of pure white
A sight to please the eye.
The trees are first to be transformed
Their leaves take on new guise
They tremble with the weight of snow
But bravely face the skies.
Not many flowers are to be found
For most have bloomed and gone
But just the few take on new shape
As the snowflakes flutter on.
The grass that once had looked so green
Is next to see the sight
Of snowflakes swirling round and round
To change the green to white.
But not everything is happy
Like the birdies in the trees
Who cannot find their breakfast
As the ground begins to freeze.
The animals too are anxious
As the green fields turn to white
But their owners find them shelter
And shut them up real tight.
As the snowflakes keep on falling
Turning everything to white
The pace of life begins to change
As few people are in sight.
And so we see how beautiful
The snow can make things look
As it covers all that’s on the ground
Just like a picture book.
The Bible gives a picture too
As God wants all to know
That though our sins are scarlet
They can be white as snow.
So confess your sin to Jesus
The precious Lamb of God
Who gave His life for sinful man
To save them through His blood.
