Echoing my heart in red
Light refracting through stained glass eyes
Flushing colors across what’s held
You marched through my front door carting
Carmine memories heaped and stored
Years of moonlight upon your heels
Visiting us with God’s reward
My kitchen filled with life by you
Laughing, eating pounds of noodles,
Aroma lingers in the air
As the marinara dwindles
I love the red jeweled soul in you
Like rubies dotting heaven’s wall
And gems in crowns betrothed to us
To one day lay where scarred feet fall
Bodies dispersed across my floors
Spreading God’s word atop our rugs
Palm tree years and ocean blessings
Could there be any sweeter thoughts
Spaghetti nights, lipstick kisses
Travel now, like old friend wand’ring
Burning embers upon my mind
For my heart’s delightful pondering
My chest bears catalogs of friends
And holds them nearer at this end.

I especially like your use of slant rhyme, and the lovely couplet at the end...oh, and your use of vivid imagery, too! I wish I could write poems like this.
