Destruction eminent
Isaiah, “King Ahaz, the LORD God will keep you safe.”
Doubts
“Ask a sign. Be it deep as the seas or high as the heavens.”
“I shan’t tempt the Lord.”
“The Lord Himself gives you a sign.”
Behold, a virgin shall conceive and have a Son,
His Name shall be Immanuel!

A routine day
Just man enters Bethlehem
Spouse begins contractions
Relatives reject “unfaithful” wife
Barn a shelter
Manger’s fresh hay
Cloth strips ready
Angels winging to earth
Light shines in darkness
Fulfillment preparations complete
Immanuel, “God with us”
