How is it that you spend your time
When each day’s work is done
Do you take the time to listen to your daughter and your son
And what about your mother, have you phoned her up today
To tell her that you love her and brighten up her day
Have you told your father lately that he’s the best there is
And spent some time just hanging out with those that you hold dear
Today is all you have my friend
To bless those that you love
So use it wisely while you can
And thank the Lord above
How is it that you spend your time
In your waking hours
Will anything that you have done
Remain when you have gone
What will you have to say to God
When he calls you home
And asks you to account for
All the deeds that you have done
Your time upon the earth is short
There’s so much still to do
Don’t waste it watching telly
You’ll regret it if you do
How is it that you spent your life
The years flew by so fast
How will you spend your twilight years
Now half your life is past
The life he gives each one of us
He’s measured finitely
So while you’re here do all you can
To set the people free
