Father, dear Father,
Creator of all,
You open my timid heart
To hear Your call.
Blighted by sin, I've missed your intending.
This weakness of mine is why You are sending
Jesus, My Savior.
Redeemer complete,
You enter my fearful heart
To feed Your sheep.
Hungered I've been, and husks have been eating.
This emptiness proves that my spirit is needing
Spirit, Oh Spirit,
Our Comforter giv'n.
You transfuse my trembling heart
In power thriv'n.
Wanting before, but now overflowing,
This boldness of heart is what You're bestowing.
Godhead, Almighty,
The mystery unfolds.
You transform the wretched heart
Your mercy holds.
All is restored, with no good thing lacking.
How can I keep silent, with this holy backing?
Word now enfleshes
The dying reborn.
You live in my joyful heart
once so forlorn.
All fear is gone. I can't keep from shouting:
Come join this adventure; no room's left for doubting!
-------
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
2 Corinthians 12:9 (KJV)
