He started as a tot
To rant and rave and misbehave
And was trouble – quite a lot!!
Johnny reached the age of four
Then caused a lot of woe,
By smashing toys and fighting boys
With everyone a foe.
When he reached the age of eight
He had not learned a jot.
With mother hit and teacher bit
In deep bother he had got.
He changed after he was ten
And much the worse did get.
Swearing at dad was really bad
And punishment he now met.
Now being a bigger boy,
Reaching the age of twelve,
His angry ways brought heartbreak days
Caused mother her hopes to shelve.
Eighteen was Johnny’s big day,
He now felt like a cad.
His anger still began to spill
And ruined the party he had.
His only hope now in God
From anger to be saved,
But far away from God’s good sway
A ruinous path he paved
Perchance one day, in a church
He heard the gospel preached,
Began to feel his sin was real
And responded to the teach.
Angry Johnny he was changed
His anger turned to calm.
From being mad to being glad
Johnny had been saved from harm
