Grandpa lost his hearing; he was deaf as he could be.
But when he went to bed and slept, he found a mystery.
He woke up just ecstatic in the middle of the night.
"Oh, don't you hear the music? It is full of joy and light!
"Listen! Oh, wake up and hear the music in the air.
My deaf old ears don't matter when God gives me a new pair.
Let's laugh and dance together, while we're borne on angel wings,
'Til 'all the world give back the song which now the angels sing.'"
Grandma had diabetes and was oh so very frail.
She spent her days in wheelchair, which she called her "little jail."
But, in her dreams and visions, she saw Heaven's golden stair.
"If only these old broken feet could get me over there!"
Little Jane said, "Grandma, it is more than you can do.
Remember the Good Shepherd is the One who carries you.
He'll waltz you up to Heaven so that you can peek inside
The gates of pearl wide open welcoming all to abide."
Listen! Oh, wake up and hear the music sweet and dear.
Whatever disability, it's where God beckons clear.
He's transformed death's adversity. It's finished, don't you see?
His New Creation's at the door and Jesus holds the key.
Listen! Oh, wake up and hear. There's music in the air.
Those deaf old ears won't matter when God gives us a new pair.
We'll laugh and dance together, as if borne on angel wings,
'Til 'all the world give back the song which now the angels sing!'

Looks like shorter is better. After the last few weeks I didn't think I stood a chance any more :)
Hugs! Val
