And how they’d God’s praise?
It told how our cartoons friends got saved
And how they’d spend their days.
But what if that song came true, one day?
And those ‘toons were saints?
What if their artists turned to God
And had Him guide their paints?
The Flintstones might rock the caveman world
They’d know the Rock of Ages
And though their stone Bible weighed a ton
They’d treasure all Its pages
Our friends Scooby Doo and Shaggy would
Stop being afraid of ghosts
They’d place all their trust in God, and sing
Songs, like the heavenly hosts.
A hunter like Elmer Fudd might find
That “hunting souls” was fun.
He’d put away his old “wabbit” gun
And preach to everyone.
That silly dog, Astro loves his George
And Elroy, Jane and Judy
If he asked the Lord into his heart
The Jetsons might be less moody
Yogi Bear and his pal Booboo Bear
Would not steal picnic food
Instead they’d give Ranger a tract or two
It might do him some good.
I think all the Muppets could get saved
If Kermit was their preacher
They’d have Sunday school on Sesame Street
Big Bird would be the teacher.
Those cool Teenage Turtles live below
They’d have to climb up above
They’d share all their pizza with the crowds
To show sacrificial love.
I guess that a talking Moose might find
That Rocky’s help was dandy
For helping the friends to visit the sick;
His flying would come in handy
And what of the Smurfs, in their blue world?
What would their mission be?
They’d crush their Smurfberries to make wine
Communion for all, you see.
And what about Bevis and “that guy”?
The ones that song rejected?
If all of the others preached to them
The result might be unexpected.
A fellow cartoon might be the one
To help their lives to turn
No matter how much they joke of “fire”
I don’t think they want to burn
It would be so great if all the cartoons
Would witness to those two boys
If all of their artists joined in prayer
That would be one “joyful noise”
Imagine the way it might just look:
They’d make an amazing sight
They’d knock on the door and say “hey, dudes!
“We bring you good news, tonight”
They’d talk of the awesome love of God.
They wouldn’t feel like a fool.
They’d keep on until both guys would say:
“You know, the Lord sounds cool.”
They’d give God their hearts, and read the Word
They’d practice the things it said
To symbolize their new lives, they’d change
To “Believe-is” and “Biblehead”
They’d kneel down together and they’d pray
Their artists would form a community
They’d ask their dear Lord to lead the way
To find their next oppor-“toon”ity
And onward they’d go, to reach more ‘toons
They’d bring good news to each place.
If artists used art to win souls for God
It could color our world with grace!
