I was dying in my sins.
When a light fell from heaven,
And I heard a voice within.
It said,"Why do you hate me?
and treat me this way?"
My eyes they filled with the light,
and I could hear my heart say . . .
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,
Your mercy covers me.
I am just a sinner,
yet your blood has made me free.
Now I may be blind,
but yet I can see.
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,
shine your light over me.
Sailing on a ship,
in the middle of the sea.
Talking to the Gentiles
about the man from Galilee.
"How can you believe
if you've never seen his face?"
Well its only by his mercy,
that I can even run the race.
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
Your grace it covers me.
I was just a sinner
and your love has made free.
Now I may be blind
but yet I can see.
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,
shine your light over me.
I wrote my last letter,
to my son, Timothy.
"Send my books and a Warm coat,
and don't cry over me"
You see I was blind,
but then I saw the light.
It was my faith in Jesus,
that helped me fight the good fight.
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,
your Mercy covers me.
I am just a sinner yet
your love has set me free.
Now I may be blind
but yet I can see.

shine your light over me.
Now I may be blind . . .
