Janis Hutchinson is author of Out of the Cults and Into the Church: Understanding and encouraging ex-cultists; also The Mormon Missionaries: An inside look at their real message and methods (also available in Spanish) All published by Kregel Publishing. She is presently working on her first novel
Her articles on cults have been translated into Spanish and Russian, and her short stories and articles have appeared in national and international magazines.
Graduating Suma Cum Laude, she holds a Masters Degree in Theology, and presently serves as mentor, for the Institute of Religious Research in its “Mormon Mentoring Program.”
As a former Mormon of thirty-four years, she speaks at churches, Bible colleges, and on Christian radio talk shows, discussing her exit from the Mormon church, its false doctrines, and the difficulties facing former Mormons making the difficult transition into Christianity. She also relates her experience in which she was held prisoner for nine months by a Mormon Fundamentalist group, after she was caught sneaking away to a Christian church.
