Spring is knocking at the backdoor of winter.
The snow is now in weeping, saggy mounds.
Children are sloshing around in goulashes,
And farmers dream of tilling all the ground!
The ladies are dreaming of planting flowers,
Petunias, perennials, roses, and such;
Just waiting for the first little sweet crocus,
Poking its head out, saying “things aren’t changed much”
But then, as quickly as the gentle knock came,
The sky darkens, winter wants one more fling!
Then, the flakes fall in their fluffy white furry!
It’s a winter wonderland, as winds sing!
Just like the gentle, expectant, knock of Spring,
A special new life comes into the world;
While someone, in the winter of a long life,
Passes on, winter has taken its toll!
The circle of life is so soon completed,
And Spring, will have her sunny, balmy way;
We rejoice in the love of our Creator,
Enjoying the blessings of each new day,
