I’m standing on a mountain
Staring up to the sky
And I can feel the wind caressing my face,
My day drifts away
As I relax in the sun
And my heart begins to slow in its pace
My mind starts to wander
And I’m drifting away,
To a fantastical time and space
The heavens open up
To a mystical curtain
And I’m dreaming ‘bout a mist-covered place
There’s a fog all around me
As I’m straining my eyes
To catch a vision of Eternity
I can’t see its shore
As I'm wandering lost
But I know there’s something ready in store
The mist never parts
And I’m trapped in a plane
Stretching endless from a hollow’d out heart
I’m stumbling blind
In a featureless cloud
And I’m shouting out for someone to find
(But) then a Hero alights
With his eyes shining bright
And he shows me the way for to see
And its by his side
I know I’ll always abide
And I know his eyes blaze for me…
His eyes blaze for me!
Now I’m high on a tower
With the world down below
And I can feel the serpent enemy’s power
His breath is rolling flame
And his talons are Pain
And Loneliness is his hated name
I cry in my fear
In my own desperation
That there’s no one in the world left to hear
The plains are scattered bones
Of ones defeated before
And those who abandoned me all stranded alone
(But) Come across the plains
One Hero remains
Who’s rode through Infinity
And with his chestnut curls
His sword it now whirls
And I know his eyes blaze for me…
His eyes blaze for me!
And there’s no mountain too high
Where he can’t hear my cry
And there’s no plain too wide
Where he can’t to me ride
And his sword defeats all
And my enemies fall
And I know that I’m free
When his eyes blaze for me!
His eyes blaze for me!
Blazing for me!
His eyes blaze for me!
Now my dream changes sight
To the pit of the world
And I’m chained into the blackest of night
In this cavernous jail
My giant captor’s Fear
And he roars with a frightening rail
The foundation he shakes
With a swing of his cudgel
And in its echoes my soul quivers and quakes
“O, deep despair”
I whisper while I shiver
And I cower in the inky damp air
(But) Then a crack in the dark
Begins with a spark
And my Fear starts to scramble and flee
And my savior breaks through
With his eyes burning true
And I know those eyes blaze for me
Those eyes blaze for me!
My walls once were strong
In my castle of stone
And I’m surrounded by my enemies’ throng
They number thousands deep
And they’re chanting defeat
And I hang my head in shame while I weep
The haunting trumpet blast
Starts a terrible siege
And I’m bracing for the breath that’s my last
I’m breached on every side
And the battle’s a loss
Unless there’s someone who can turn back the tide
And then out of the blue
Comes to my rescue
My Hero riding from the skies to my plea
From his eyes come a flash
And my foes turn to ash
Then I cry "Those eyes blaze for me!"
Those eyes blaze for me!
And there’s no deepest cave
He can’t find me to save
And no army can stand
‘Gainst his powerful hand
And his limitless might
Shines with glorious Light
And there’s just one decree
That he’s promised for me
“Mine eyes blaze for thee!”
His eyes blaze for me!
His eyes blaze for me!
