A MESSAGE TO ALL GOD’S CHILDREN
This topic came as a result of catching me in the middle of deep thoughts, thoughts about an issue which I have dwelt on for so long
I suddenly realised that i was being Judge and jury, condemning and crucifying in my heart, certain individuals in my life and wondering why they can simply not give up certain particular habits (bad, of course!)that we have talked about, tried to work on together, prayed about and they have even promised and made resolutions about and actually stopped; but often went back!
Knowing fully well that it was a situation that obviously was destroying them and causing so much pain for them and all who love them, they still were like slaves in bondage to these vices and I had disdain and condemnation in my heart for the whole set-up.
Suddenly,i was jolted out of my reverie, it was as if I heard a voice in my thoughts bringing me back on track and pointing out my own flaws to me and how hard it is sometimes to stop once I start(ALTHOUGH FULL OF REGRETS AFTERWARDS but...!) and how they might not be so obvious as other’s shortcomings but none the less, were old character and old ways that need to be flushed out and dropped quickly like VERY HOT CAKES because they OBVIOUSLY do not glorify nor make God happy about or with me!
Wow! What an eye opener!
IF YOU HAVE A BIG LOG IN YOUR EYE, MIND IT FIRST, BEFORE YOU START TRYING TO HELP ANOTHER REMOVE THE LITTLE SPLINTER IN HIS!
In other words, do not crucify YOUR BROTHER OR NEIGHBOUR FOR HIS FLAWS WHILST YOU ARE REEKING WITH YOURS
It is so easy to criticise others about what they often do or can not do without doing, it is easy to stigmatize others and label them, unwise, unintelligent and simply weaklings!
But I ask, what is YOUR addiction?
There are various types of battles that we face individually in our day to day activities and walk with the Lord.
What is it that you are battling with that you know is obviously(or not so obvious!) not making God happy with you? The things that we all battle with vary, it is easy to wonder why and continually criticise someone who struggles with an OBVIOUS sin, habit or character like the proverbial dog that keeps going back to his vomit.
Getting rid of an indoctrinated, imbibed or acquired habit, hereditary character or mind-set is not an easy task because this is or these are real strongholds.
Whatever does not make God happy with us has always pleased the devil.
Being the wicked task-master that he is, he does not let go easily of what has been willingly, or perhaps ignorantly, deposited in his possession and HE DOES NOT FIGHT FAIR, YOU KNOW!
So what do we do in such situations?
Deep persistence and conscious determination, with the help of the Holy spirit, WE can fight any stronghold; God has said whatever MAN PUTS HIS MIND UPON TO DO, HE CAN ACHIEVE IT.
IF GOD BE FOR US, WHO CAN BE AGAINST US?
As you prayerfully fight YOUR DEMONS (funny you know! The English language knowingly or unknowingly speaks that which is spiritual in our daily lives) remember that it is NOT ONLY THAT PERSON WHO ABUSES HARD DRUGS that is an addict.
Addiction to:
Food(gluttony is a sin),
Sex(especially outside your marriage or before you are married)
And adoration of money, position or persons
All forms of material things especially going into a frenzy just to acquire them
Hatred, bitterness and prejudice
Anger
Envy or jealousy
Stealing (even in and most especially in the church)
Immoral thoughts and acts (Even Viewing X-rated internet websites and videos)
TELEVISION (believe it or not!)
Incest(the EVIL OF OUR TIME)
Talkativeness..which distracts one from hearing from God, also it eventually drives the talker to speak things that do not edify anyone nor GLORIFY God.
An attitude of overt-intellectualism and Comparative-Realism(which, funny enough hinders many in our day from moving forward in their relationship with God in the church!)
Sarcasm...some can not string two words together in a conversation without being sarcastic and hurtful and at times they even think that they are being funny and lively!
So many vices and sins that beset, too numerous to mention and,
You know what yours is, if not ask in prayer and be watchful about it too, because some are actually subtle and unnoticeable except by others, otherwise, it shall be made manifest in due course.
This year and henceforth, I want to move on to higher grounds and have fire fall down from heaven like in the days of old, i want to see tongues of fire on every head in a gathering of the saints; it can not happen without HOLINESS AND RIGHTEOUSNESS
An addiction is an unholy part of us that hinders!
SAY YE TO THE RIGHTEOUS THAT, ‘IT SHALL BE WELL WITH YOU’!
Indeed brethren, it shall be well with you!
