How did everything turn into I, me, my, mine?
Since I was the firstborn, I was head of the line.
Everything I accomplished was rather quite fine,
Because my small world was just I, me, my, mine!
Resounding applause when I first hit the potty!
They all viewed me good and never ever naughty.
I thought room service was called Mom and Dad.
I was waited on hand and foot. Boy, was I glad!
How did everything turn into I, me, my, mine?
Since I was the firstborn, I was head of the line.
Everything I accomplished was rather quite fine,
Because my small world was just I, me, my, mine!
Then Momma’s tummy began to grow large.
Soon came the day I went home with Aunt Marge.
I came home again to find this new little creature.
All eyes were on him. He became the main feature!
How did everything turn from I, me, my, mine?
Since he was the baby, he was head of the line.
He could do no wrong, for he was rather quite fine.
The world’s getting crowded for I, me, my, mine!
My world is now large; I prefer one another.
We must make room for each sister and brother.
It’s now that I treasure the ones I love most,
Since I made room for Father, Son and Holy Ghost!
