Last Spring I was in the hospital for treatment of a debilitating disease I have. I had been reading Jerimiah 45:5b"but your life I will give you as a prize." Suddenly things took a turn for the worse.
My kidney (I only have one), began to shut down.
The doctors put in a shunt and began dialysis. The pastor was called and things were touch and go for awhile. During all this I kept hearing a voice.
Someone was saying "I am holding you in the palm of my hand." I know it was God , He was giving me my life as a prize. I knew in those moments that even if I should be taken I was ready. A great sense of peace overcame me.
As it turned out the kidney problem was from one of the medications I was taking. Once off of it the healung process began. God had truly given me my life as a prize.
This is the prayer I prayed in thanksgiving.
Thank you for being the God you are and for touching my life. For choosing me despite myself and for bringing me in a broken heap to Your feet.
Most of all thank you for loving me enough to begin a new creation in me. Thank you For Your Son and the promise and the hope of the cross.Thank you for the Holy Spirit You have put in me. Give me the strength and the courage to let You work in me. Give me the wisdom to discern what you would hve me do. Then give me the the humility and grace to do it without reservation, that others may come to know you.
