The first tears I remember where bitter.
They stung like fire against my cheek.
The innocence of a child was breached.
All the sin of the world now closed in,
As the boundaries were broken.
Tears that had to be hidden deep,
Even though thry tore holes in my heart.
All the secrets I had to keep,
Either keep or tear lives apart.
Then tears of sorrow and loss.
When would it stop.
How much would it cost?
Is there nobody who cares!
There is someone who cares.
Who has always been there.
His son paid the price.
He gave the ultimate sacrifice.
He changed the bitterness to joy.
The secrets to knowledge of Him.
He has taken me to new heights.
Instead of where I could have been.
The tears now cleanse my soul.
As I praise Him and get to know,
My Savior, my Redeemer and Friend.
May my tears of joy forever flow.
