The world is filled with so much gloom.
It creeps its way to every room.
The end result is total doom
From birth until we reach the tomb.
We see it in so many places
Marching on a million faces.
What can free us from its traces
Wrench us from its clutching braces?
Longingly as time goes by
The world wreaks out a battle cry.
Then giving up with one big sigh
It assumes that gloom will never die.
But one lone stranger in the night
Decided to join the war and fight.
He sent gloom on a lofty flight when
He laughed out loud with all his might.
So if your life is filled with gloom
If sorrow dwells in every room
Don’t take it with you to the tomb
Don’t wear it like a feathered plume.
Just laugh out loud with all your might
And put gloom out of mind and sight.
