I need you to be near.
I am stumbling through the darkness.
My heart is full of fear.
Hold my hand, Lord Jesus.
Tell me I am okay.
Assure me tomorrow will come.
Be a beacon to light my way.
What should I do, Lord Jesus?
Whisper in my ear.
My mind is clouded with confusion.
Wipe away my tear.
My vision is blurred from crying.
The tears run down my face.
They seep into my soul.
I do not know my place.
Please teach me to be patient.
Please teach me to obey.
Please touch my husband and children.
Stand beside me the entire way.
The demons loom around me.
They bare their fangs and hiss.
Their claws dig deep inside me.
I am consumed by evil’s kiss.
The demon of jealousy strikes me.
The demon of wrath hits next.
I yell and scream in anguish.
I fight my very best.
Just when I feel defeated,
And ready to say, “I quit”.
You remind me you are with me,
And say, “My child, don’t forget.
"Stand strong with me beside you,
Even if you go astray.
I’ll be right here waiting,
When you return someday.
"My love is deeper than the ocean.
It shines brighter than the sun.
You only think you have lost it,
But my work in you has only begun.
"I will not leave you, my child.
I love you oh so dear.
Your pain has not gone unnoticed.
I have counted every tear.
"A place for you is waiting,
In Heaven, by my side.
I am not disappointed.
My heart is full of pride.
"Remember to be humble,
When satan gets in your face.
Think about what I would do,
If I were in your place.
"You are not alone, my child.
I am with you everyday.
I have not forsaken you.
I will help you find your way."
