Early mornings are truly the quietest time to hear God’s voice and this morning was no exception. His comforting words ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you’ brushed into my bruised heart. When all your friends seemingly desert you, or don’t really understand you, Jesus is right by your side.
I have found recently, the LORD bringing to my mind those burdens I carry, which at his invitation are better left at the cross. Having a relationship with Jesus truly isn’t about religion in any way and coming from a non-Christian background has actually helped me to some extent not to take on many of the traditional 'law' church formats.
Paramount to my Christian life is knowing and loving Jesus but not only that, but believing that God knows me and loves me; this has taken a great perseverance, especially, if all you have been used to is abuse.
When I am weak then Jesus is my strength and this reality of God's strength can only be experienced when facing trials and tribulations. I'm realizing that my faith and walk with God is worth more than pure gold.
I am in a precarious situation at this time and in-between homes. I am classed as homeless but in temporary accommodation, this could change at any time. I am so grateful that Jesus is with me. My flat although small which suites me and is clean and warm for my needs and my little dog.
I also had to move and live in a different town but I praise God for it is the very town my daughter moved some three months previous. Although my daughter is not a Christian, she displays all the qualities of love and kindness and puts them into practice that Jesus talks about, not just to me but to all of her friends.
So despite deep loneliness, Jesus is right here with me and comforts me. My heart broke again as it seemed my friends failed me in this uncertain time. Yet this has drawn me closer still to Jesus who I am beginning to realize more and more is the only Light that will guide me.
Yes, I heard the Shepherd’s voice this morning, his love, his comfort, his guidance and the will to continue this narrow path.
I Know Jesus is the answer, for His love is constant every day and continues forever. Today is Valentine’s Day so the voice of the Shepherd came just at the right time.
