HELP TOUR

It's easy to critique the works of others and get your work critiqued. Just follow the steps below:

1) Post your first piece.

2) You must then critique the work of another member to post another piece yourself.

3) For each critique you give, you earn 1 credit that can be used to post another one of your writings.

4) You can build up credits to be used at another time by giving critiques to others.

This is a dialogue-only short story. I don't want to give too much information. I just hope you enjoy it, as it is near and dear to not only my own heart, but the hearts of christians everywhere.
Starting the Walk

“Why me? There has to be at least a million others out there, who are better than I am. Why choose me?”

Why not choose you? I know who you are. I know what you’ve done in the past. You’re perfect.

“No I’m not. I’m just a low life, tired of being lost. I wouldn’t even know where to begin. My whole life has been one train wreck after another. You should really consider someone else for this.”

You’ll do fine. Trust me; you’re exactly who I want. I need you because of your brokenness; because you’ve made mistakes; because you’re a bad person, by your own standards. As I said, you’re perfect.

“Yeah well you’re making a mistake. I’m telling you…you don’t want me on your team. I’m used to following my own rules and doing things my way. Now you wanna tell me to follow your rules? Based on what?”

That’s a good question. So, I challenge you to consider this: Yes…you are used to doing things your own way. Up to this point in life, how’s that worked out for you?

“…I…”

Take your time. I’ll wait. I’ve got nothing else to do right now, but be here with you.

“…not so good, I guess. Not so good.”

You can’t get any lower than you are right now. I won’t let you. This is your time to change everything, but you have to want to do it. I can’t make you. You have to choose to want to do it. I know it’s a hard thing to do, but that’s why I want you. Once you’re with me, I promise to always back you up. I’ll never leave you.

“I don’t know how to start. Are you sure there isn’t a more qualified person for this?”

I don’t usually choose the qualified; I tend to qualify the chosen. Believe me…you’re it.

“…I’m so tired. I don’t even want to fight anymore. I guess…I …I want to change. GOD knows I do. Jesus Christ…”

Yes…I’m still here, and I love you. Congratulations; you’ve just started walking.
